Amanda Burnside, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, is a board-certified art therapist, who was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Amanda holds a Master’s ofthe Arts in Art Therapy from Marywood University. While at Marywood, Amanda completed four internships withexperience in addictions, inpatient mental and behavioral health, and medically fragile and developmentally delayedchildren.
Amanda has experience working with adults and adolescents with substance abuse issues. She has utilized her skills as anart therapist in both group and individual counseling. Her background includes inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol
counseling in community and school-based settings.
Amanda has co-presented at the National Conference for AddictionDisorders and also co-presented Art and Addiction Art Show for the conference as well. This exhibit focused on client artwork from the inpatient rehab setting. She has experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, mindfulness,and group therapy. She utilizes a humanistic, person-centered therapeutic approach. She strives to encourage those sheworks with to create a meaningful and fulfilled life and to strive for their dreams.
