Our inpatient clinical program consists of group therapy, psychoeducational lectures, individual and family counseling, medical and psychiatric care. Clients are offered comprehensive, individualized treatment in a safe and supportive environment. Our program is designed to break down the barriers and fear surrounding the change needed for ongoing recovery. We aim to help residents love themselves again, heal from their past, and feel empowered to choose a life in recovery.

Little Creek Lodge residents are expected to commit to a minimum of 30 days. While thirty days is certainly not a magic number, it does provide a good foundation upon which our residents can begin to create a life in recovery. Little Creek Lodge offers a wide variety of programs designed to facilitate a healthy, sober lifestyle and empower men to feel good about the choices they make.

Adventure Trek

The Recreational Programming at Little Creek Lodge helps residents learn to trust and to be trusted again. Time spent outdoors can renew the mind, body, and spirit, and remind residents that anything is possible. We feel that many other treatment centers keep you from reality and lack exposure to the real world. By exposing them to healthy activities within a community setting, we can promote healthy interaction between peers and allow relationships to develop healthily and safely.

We have been told by many residents that these experiences are what helped them smooth the transition from treatment to a real sober lifestyle. By creating these experiences, residents are empowered to make good choices about their futures and can celebrate their successes with their peers.

Common activities and excursions for Adventure Trek include:

  • Kayaking
  • Zip Lining
  • Mountain Biking
  • Fishing
  • Swimming
  • Skiing/Snowboarding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Horseback Riding
  • Go Karting
  • Museums
  • Frisbee Golf
  • Hiking

Vocational Guidance

We believe that helping our clients navigate their careers and other vocational considerations while in recovery is vital. So much of our adult lives is spent working. It is important that whatever vocational arena a client is returning to post-treatment, be it a job, college, or training program, they are prepared to maintain their recovery.

We operate weekly vocational groups. Here, clients can discuss their post-treatment vocational goals. They can also develop personal vocational plans that allow for time spent on maintaining sobriety.

Family Program

Rebuilding relationships is an important part of recovery, and many families benefit from understanding the process of rebuilding trust after addiction as treatment progresses. That’s why we offer a counselor-run Family Program via Zoom on the first Sunday of each month from 10:00-11:30 am.

We have found that offering this program via Zoom allows for better and more frequent participation by families who have, or have had, a loved one in treatment with us. Our aim is to provide families with education around addiction and offer a safe place for family members to share their experiences and seek support from the clinical team as well as one another.

This program is offered once per month to family members of clients across all levels of care or alumni families.

Mental Health Counseling Options

Here at Little Creek, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all cure for addiction. That is why we provide various mental health counseling programs, with sobriety always being the goal.

Individual Therapy

Person-centered therapy focuses on individual patients to help find the root cause of why there was an addiction in the first place. The objective of individual therapy is to help build healthy self-esteem and maintain sobriety. Benefits from individual therapy include creating trust between the patient and the therapist, supportive conversation, and dissecting habits and beliefs so that patients can better understand themselves.

Group Therapy

Group therapy helps build rapport and relationships with other residents at Little Creek. It helps to gain insight into what they are dealing with during their recovery process. The benefits of group therapy include building a sense of community, understanding group dynamics and individual roles within it, and helping patients gain a different perspective for their recovery and the recovery of others.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Our cognitive behavioral therapy helps reframe negative thought patterns that could be contributing to substance use disorder. CBT aims to help teach patients to recognize negative thought patterns and control the harmful behavior that stems from those thoughts.

Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT helps patients learn to manage emotions, deal with stress, nurture close relationships, and manage cravings for substances. The goal of DBT is to teach patients to work through stressful situations that cause negative self-talk, emotions, and self-harm.

Clients also explore internal barriers that can affect long-term progress, such as fear of success, which can influence behavior and decision-making during recovery.

Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Options

Our clinical program includes both inpatient care and outpatient programs, because not every person needs the same level of support at every stage of recovery. Some residents need the structure of a 24-hour setting at the start of treatment. Others may be ready for a program that gives them more independence while still keeping clinical support in place.

Outpatient care can also serve as the next step after detox or residential treatment. It allows clients to continue working on recovery while returning to daily responsibilities in a more gradual way. At Little Creek Lodge, we offer co-ed outpatient addiction treatment programs through three levels of care: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and General Outpatient Program (OP).

PHP, IOP, and OP Levels of Care

Each outpatient option is built with a different schedule and level of intensity. This allows treatment to stay aligned with the client’s progress, needs, and ability to manage recovery outside of a residential setting.

PHP is the most structured outpatient option. Clients attend programming Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This level includes group therapy, individual therapy, and psychiatric or medical care throughout the week.

IOP offers a step down in time commitment while still providing regular clinical support. Clients attend group therapy for 3 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week, and also take part in at least 1 individual counseling session each week.

General OP is the least intensive level of outpatient care. It includes at least 1 group session per week, which lasts 1.5 hours, along with 1 individual counseling session per week. As clients build more stability in recovery, treatment may be adjusted, and group participation may decrease over time.

These services take place in person at our outpatient office. Virtual treatment may also be available for clients at the OP level who are no longer attending groups.

Nutrition and daily structure support the clinical program by helping residents maintain stability throughout treatment.

Transportation

Transportation is included for all approved medical appointments within a 5-mile radius. All independent appointments outside a 5-mile radius will be billed at the rate of $30 per hour.

Medication

Medications that clients come with into treatment must be deemed medically appropriate and continued via the doctor’s order at the time of admission. All resident medication is filled through our contracted pharmacy and billed to the insurance on file. We will review high medication costs and copays with the client before filling the prescription. We do not want high medical bills to interfere with an individual’s course of treatment.

If you have any questions or concerns about medications, you can discuss them with the Little Creek Lodge nursing staff or medical provider.

Method of payment

Little Creek Lodge accepts most major insurances. We are in-network with Geisinger Health Plan and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you have any questions or would like to verify your insurance, please call or fill out our insurance verification form under the admissions tab.

We also accept private pay, personal check, or credit card.

Start Building a Strong Foundation Through a Clinical Program

A structured clinical program provides the support, guidance, and consistency needed to begin recovery and maintain it over time. With the right combination of therapy, medical care, and daily structure, individuals can address both substance use and the challenges that come with it.

If you or a loved one is considering treatment, the next step is understanding which level of care fits your situation. Contact Little Creek Lodge today to learn more about our clinical program and how we can help you move forward with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a clinical program include in addiction treatment?

A clinical program includes therapy, medical care, and structured daily support. It often combines individual counseling, group sessions, and psychiatric services to address both substance use and underlying mental health concerns.

How long does a program usually last?

Length varies based on individual needs, but many programs begin with a 30-day commitment. Some residents continue with outpatient care or extended support to maintain progress after completing inpatient treatment.

How do you know if this is the right level of care?

A clinical program is often recommended when substance use affects daily functioning or when previous attempts to stop have not worked. A full assessment helps determine whether inpatient or outpatient care is more appropriate.

Can a clinical program help with relapse prevention?

Yes, it addresses relapse risk through therapy, structure, and routine. Patients learn to recognize triggers, manage stress, and adjust behavior patterns that could lead to substance use.
